Saturday long run - 9.81 miles in 3:43:42Pace: 22:48Virtual Donna Half Marathon was Saturday for our Atlanta Galloway group.
On the plus side:
1. I got up in the middle of the night (ok, 4:30a)
2. I got to the start in the freezing cold (28 degrees)
3. I made it 9.81 miles (past the turnaround and almost half way back)
Less plus:
1. I walked most of it so my slow pace was slower...
2. So simple math - That meant it took that much longer...
3. Which really was my undoing.
At almost 10, I realized we had more than another full hour to go and it was just too much. I was too tired, too out of the habit of long miles.
But the good news is that I'm back on plan (regular on weeknight runs, working back into regular Saturday runs, regular Sunday WW meetings (3 weeks in a row) and tracking . . . all that fun stuff) so I'm hopeful that I can turn it around.
Unfortunately, it wasn't soon enough to salvage this weekend's run.
But, hey, while 9.81 < 13.1 it is > DNS. Bear with me.

The next one will be better :) And you are right...9.81 is a great accomplishment :)
